NottinghamLIFE: Nottingham talent to take centre stage at summer spectacular

Local talent will take centre stage at Nottingham’s shopping centres this weekend (2 and 3 July) as part of one of the city’s biggest summer celebrations hosted by intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh.

 

Students from Nottingham Academy and Take One dance group are just two of the talented performers that will entertain shoppers at intu’s ‘Everyone’s Invited’ weekend which takes place at the centres every year.

Nicola McCabe, marketing manager at intu in Nottingham, said: “We are really looking forward to celebrating the summer in style at our centres this weekend and can’t wait to see such fantastic local talent perform during the event.

“The local community is hugely important to us and we are really pleased to be able to include the students from Nottingham Academy and Take One in our brilliant Everyone’s Invited event.”

Nottingham Academy will be performing on the intu Victoria Centre bandstand on Saturday (2 July) at 12.30 and 3.30pm, while Take One will visit the centre at 12 and 2pm on both days as well as taking to the stage at intu Broadmarsh at 12.45pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The bandstand, which will be surrounded by grass, deck chairs, quirky seating and giant toadstool will be located outside Topshop at intu Victoria Centre. Live music and maypole dancing will take place at intu Broadmarsh’s Listergate Square.

Nicola added: “We have a whole weekend packed with fun, free activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy – so whatever the weather, we are looking forward to putting on a great show.”

Activities taking place at intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July include:

intu Victoria Centre:

Live music at bandstand outside Topshop surrounded by grass, deck chairs, mushroom seating and giant toadstools – Saturday and Sunday11am – 4pm

Live music at Clocktower dining  – Saturday 5.30 – 7.30pm

Live musical parades through the centre on both days at 11am, 1pm and 3pm

Kids craft activities – both days 11am – 4pm

Nottingham Forest in the Community’s ‘Foot Sharp’ game – Saturday 11am – 4pm

Performances by music students from Nottingham Academy – Saturday 2.30 and 3.30pm

Take 1 Dance Studios – both days at 12pm and 2pm

Singing performers at entrances

intu Broadmarsh:

Live music and maypole dancing at Lister Gate Square – both days 11am – 4pm

Humpty Dumpty story-telling – Listergate – both days 11am – 4pm

Bowling – outside Wilko – both days 11am – 1pm and 1.30 – 4pm

Kids craft activities – both days 11am – 4pm

Face painting on the Upper Mall – both days 11am – 4pm

Take 1 Dance Studios – both days at 12.45pm
