intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh will host two days of free activities and entertainment on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July as it kicks off intu’s big summer celebration
A fabulous mariachi band and stilt band will be among the performers putting smiles on the faces of intu shoppers during its ‘Summer Party’ weekend at intu Victoria Centre, alongside other acts and activities including a hook and duck and hoopla at intu Broadmarsh.
Nicola McCabe, marketing manager at intu in Nottingham said: “This is a summer party like no other and we can’t wait to see the smiles on the faces of shoppers in Nottingham when they see what we have in store.”
“Whether you’re visiting us for fantastic performances by local musicians, to take part in fun activities like our clown workshops at intu Broadmarsh or to test your reactions with Nottingham Forest at intu Victoria Centre or to simply enjoy a great day out with family and friends, everyone joining us for intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh’s Summer Party is in for a real treat.”
Activities taking place at intu Victoria Centre on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July include:
intu Victoria Centre:
- Being greeted on arrival to the centre with a flower or a tasty stick of rock
- Musical entertainment from a mariachi band (on Saturday) or a stilt walking band (on Sunday). On Sunday roaming walkabout ‘Squawk’ the colourful birds will be exploring the centre 11:30am- 2:15pm
- Costumer characters will be handing out free candy floss
- Free face painters at Clocktower
- Free kids craft activities at Clocktower to decorate paper flowers for them to be put on display in the centre over the Summer holidays
- Nottingham Forest in the Community are back for a second year testing reactions and this year there is a leader board to capture the quickest feet
- Live music by Tesco
- The Minions are visiting The Entertainer in store on Saturday 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
intu Broadmarsh:
- Free kids activity with lion mask making on Saturday and balloon modelling workshop Sunday
- Circus skills workshop taking place on the stage on Listergate
- Live music on Listergate and outside Wilkos
- Free hook a duck on Listergate
- Free hoopla outside Ernest Jones
- Walkabout acts including; jugglers, roaming stilt walkers, balloonologist and teaching circus skills
- Free face painters located by Grape tree on the lower mall
