DHP Family’s head of marketing has been tipped as one of the ‘bright young things’ working behind the scenes in the British music industry who are destined to make a big impact in the future, by leading trade title Music Week.

Head of Marketing for the venue operator, music promoter and live entertainment company, Mark Dennis, made the ‘30 under 30’ shortlist drawn up by leading industry magazine on an annual basis.

The list recognises some of the best and brightest young talent working in the music industry who are predicted to make a significant impact in the coming years.

Mark joined DHP Family in 2013 and now leads the marketing team for its national promotion and concerts business. In the last year he oversaw marketing campaigns for more than 1,500 concerts and tours.

The 27-year-old also led the marketing across DHP’s Festival portfolio including Dot to Dot Festival, No Tomorrow, Splendour, and Hit The Deck, marketing artists as varied as John Newman, The Specials, Skindred, and Fat White Family.

Mark said: “It’s great to work with a team that’s full of positive, creative individuals. There’s times when my workload is intense but it’s reassuring to know that everyone around you is dedicated, determined, and ready to pull together to get the job done.”

Anton Lockwood, director, DHP Family, said: “We’re delighted to see Mark earning a well-deserved place in the 30 under 30 list! Since joining DHP he’s gone from strength to strength leading the concerts marketing team through a period of huge growth, and he plays a key role in DHP’s burgeoning success as a national promoter.”

When asked about his biggest challenge so far, Mark said: “Dot to Dot Festival happens over three days in Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham so is always one hard slog to get to the end. I managed to clock 30km on my phone’s pedometer on just the first day. 48 hours later, the last band finished at Bodega in Nottingham – a pint has never tasted so good.”

The award follows recognition for another DHP Family member of staff, promoter Scott O’Neill, identified as one of ‘Tomorrow’s Bosses’ by industry title IQ.
