Theatre Review: Psychology of Serial Killers

It’s fair to say that I am something of a true crime fanatic, most nights I drift off to sleep listening to one of the many great true crime podcasts available, and in particular I am fascinated by serial killers and the psychology around them, so when I heard that Psychology of Serial Killers was coming to Nottingham I was not about to pass up the chance to head down and check it out.

Presented by forensics lecturer Jennifer Rees, this was a fascinating and education journey into the world of serial killers covering topics from the differences between male and female serial killers, how serial killers are classified and how, despite often being classed under the same umbrella, serial and mass killers are differentiated.

The second half of the show featured audience participation including a fact or fiction section, naming some of the best known male & female serial killer pairings and some of the most common ways serial killers would kill – and how that differed based on sex.

I found the whole show extremely interesting and would highly recommend it for anybody with an interest in true crime, serial killers and/or forensic psychology.
