Nigel Wheatley, general manager of intu in Nottingham, said: “We can confirm that contractors Sir Robert McAlpine will start work on Monday (25 February) on the upper mall at intu Broadmarsh as part of the £86 million transformation of the centre.

“As a result, the Drury Walk entrance to the centre (off Middle Hill) will be closed however the centre and shops are open as usual via the main entrance at Listergate along with Collin Street and Cliff Road. The City of Caves is also open with its entrance relocating to Sussex Street. Customers can follow the signs within the centre, ask a member of our team or can take the steps at the back of the Nottingham Contemporary.

“It’s inevitable that there will be some disruption throughout the build but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum. It’s an exciting time for intu Broadmarsh and we are looking forward to developing the centre into a great place to eat, relax and play from day time through to evening.”
