NottinghamLIVE Radio Show: September Sessions

Since launching the NottinghamLIVE Radio show at the end of January this year we are extremely proud that as well as great Nottingham music, including some fantastic exclusives, we have also been able to bring you live sessions from some of the city’s most exciting talent each and every week, and this September we are pleased to announce we have a great series of live sessions lined up.

First up, this Wednesday is the brilliant LONG DEAD SIGNAL, the 2010 Future Sound of Nottingham winners have long been one of the best acts on the local scene and despite being a little quiet of late they’re back and just as good as ever. Ahead of performances at the Amazement Festival and Macmillan Fest (where they headline the NottinghamLIVE.co.uk stage) they’ll be in to treat us to a live session.

On September 11th we welcome in the excellent HUNTING HELEN, these guys produce acoustic rock but they do it bigger, better and more exciting than most, the trio produced their debut album at the tail end of 2012 and continue to go from strength to strength.

While the Nottingham scene may only just be getting the attention and credit it deserves there are a few bands that have been smashing out great music around these parts for years. One such band is the punk rock trio THE SMEARS who have been doing what they do and doing it bloody well for a decade now. Ahead of their 10th anniversary show at Jamcafe on Sept 21 the band join us in the studio on Sept 18th for what promises to be one heck of a session.

When it comes to following on from The Smears it takes something pretty special and our guests on Wednesday 25th are just that. If you haven’t yet seen DICK VENOM & THE TERRORTONES then you are missing out on a treat. They describe themselves as “TransDimentional Sexomatic FuckerPhonic Trashablilly” and who are we to argue with that description, we’ve been after these guys since day one and can’t wait to have them in the studio, if for no other reason to find out what cartoon character Dick Venom would most like to have sex with!

We are sure you’ll agree that’s a fantastic series of live sessions we have lined up and with acts already being booked for October and November you really should be tuning in to the best show dedicated to only Nottingham music.

The NottinghamLIVE Radio Show airs every Wednesday, 7-10pm, only on Trent Sound
