Amber Run set for Splendour Main Stage

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Dog is Dead, Saint Raymond, Indiana and, of course, 2013 headliner Jake Bugg, Nottingham band AMBER RUN have been announced as one of the acts playing the main stage at this years SPLENDOUR FESTIVAL.

The band, who played the Confetti Stage last year, were included in the latest announcement of acts for this years festival, which takes place at Wollaton Park on Saturday 18 of July.

Also announced for the main stage, which will be headlined by ska band The Specials, are hit 90’s band JAMES, best known for the hit single ‘Sit Down’, singer JESS GLYNNE, who recently featured on Clean Bandit’s chart topping ‘Rather Be’, pop rockers LAWSON, ROOTS MANUVA and TO KILL A KING.

As in previous years the main stage will be opened by the winners of the Future Sound of Nottingham winners – details of which were announced in the latest Nusic podcast.

Meanwhile Nottingham punk/celtic folk act FEROCIOUS DOG, who recently played a sell-out show at The Bodega will play the Confetti Stage, a return to the stage they opened back in 2013, joining them in representing Nottingham on the second stage will be KETO, THE SWIINES and GEORGIE.

Headlining the Confetti stage will be pop legends BANANARAMA, while also performing will be THE TWANG and IRIS GOLD.

Once again the fine folks at the Acoustic Rooms (the weekly music event at Rescue Rooms) will be running things on the Courtyard Stage and have put together a line up of top upcoming Nottingham talent, including 2014 Future Sound of Nottingham winner JOY MUMFORD. Also performing on this stage will be EYRE LLEW, HHYMN, JAMIE LAWSON, MOLLY & JACK, RJMARKS, DAUDI MATSIKO and CEDRIC PETERS.

As ever the Funhouse Comedy Stage will return with a host of upcoming comedy stars taking to the stage to offer up the laughs and as ever there will be plenty of family and children’s entertainment including fairground rides, a free kids area, and a Big Bear’s Big Balloon Disco.

Tickets for the festival are available now, starting at £20 for 11-17 year olds and £34 for adults with a CItycard. Under 10’s go free. For more information and tickets head over to the official Splendour website
