Theatre Review: Bing Live!

IMG_4812

Bing Live came to Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall this week. I’ve been to a few kid shows at the theatre now and I can honestly say that this was the most excited audience pre-show I had experienced. So much so one lad behind me said he was going to “ring pest control on these noisy kids”.

The set didn’t disappoint, although there was audible confusion when the animatronic puppet characters appeared with two or three humans behind them. However the kiddies seemed to soon get immersed into the story and forgot about the human controllers.

It was exactly as it says on the tin, an episode of Bing but live, albeit a feature length episode with some audience interaction. I felt sorry for the kids that got dragged away halftime by some grumpy soles, especially as the second half was much better. The best part was the dance Coco got everyone to do, it was simple enough for all ages to follow, it had some kiddies screaming out “I Love You”, it was total Bingmania!
