Christmas might be almost upon us, not to mention the end of another year – and don’t the seem to fly by quicker, however there is still time to catch some great comedy during the final month of the year – and you just might need a laugh over the festive period what with the family get together’s, over excitable Christmas lovers, not to mention just planning for the day itself – so here you can check out our handy guide as to what is ahead.

Royal Concert Hall

There’s only the one comedy show at the Theatre Royal this month but it is certainly one to check out as SARAH MILLICAN stops off on her latest tour, the Home Bird Tour, now on her third national tour Millican is going from strength to strength – even landing her own TV chat show – and her off the cuff tales have made her one of the biggest names in comedy. Head down to the Royal Concert Hall to find out what to take on a dirty weekend, how to blend in at a posh restaurant, how to teach a pensioner to swear and much, much more when she stops off in Nottingham on the 14 and 15 December.

The Glee Club

The Glee Club has a packed Christmas schedule as ever, with Christmas party nights running throughout the month. First up, on 6 and 7 is ANDY ROBINSON, DAN NIGHTINGALE and ANDY ASKINS.

There are three nights of Christmas comedy from 12 to 14 of the month with ROB ROUSE, best known for his appearances in the Sheridan Smith starring Grown Ups back in the mid naughties, heading up in the action. Rob will be joined by the quickfire, one liner comedy of GARY DELANEY, a regular on panel show Mock the Week over the past couple of series. Also appearing will be DAMIEN CLARK.

The 19 to 21 brings the Christmas party run to an end with another trio of comedians, this time in the guise of PAUL MCCAFFREY, MARLON DAVIS and CLINT EDWARDS.

Of course no December would be complete without a bang up New Year Party and Glee are offering just that with four great acts lined up for the final night of the year. including Award winning “dance sensation”, CHARLIE BAKER, ANDREW STANLEY, STUART MITCHELL and JOHN GORDILLO.

Just the Tonic

Unsurprisingly Just the Tonic are going all out with a packed Christmas special, including a great meal deal involving fellow Cornerhouse tenants Tamatanga, and a host of great comedians.

First up, this Wednesday, is wannabe rock star-cum-comedian SAM AVERY, plus guest.

Just the Tonic are hosting a special night at Antenna on Thursday, with sets from THE NOISE NEXT DOOR, ROMESH RANGANATHAN and JTT top man DARRELL MARTIN.

THE NOISE NEXT DOOR are back at The Forum Friday and Saturday, this time joined by JOHNNY CANDON, BENNETT ARRON and SAM AVERY.

Wednesday 11 sees PAUL MCCAFFREY, ROMESH RANGANATHAN and RICH WILSON perform, the trio are also appearing on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 – this time joined by STEVE HARRIS.

GARY DELANEY will be at the venue from Tuesday 17 until Friday 20, with a mixture of comedians joining him on various days, including DALISO CHAPONDA, IVAN BRACKENBURY, KAI HUMPHRIES and SAM AVERY.

Brackenbury, Humphries and Avery all return on Saturday 21.

Finally there will be a New Year blow-out ADAM BLOOM, IAN COGNITO and ROGER MONKHOUSE, plus a guest, all set to perform.
