Authentically retro whilst simultaneously absolutely contemporary’ – Mark Radcliffe, BBC 6 Music

Following sold-out headline shows at well-respected Notts venues The Maze and The Bodega and a high-profile support slot for the Boomtown Rats at Wellowfest over the summer, “one of Nottingham’s best live bands” have now secured the main support slot for Liverpool indie legends ‘Cast’ at yet another of the City’s top venues, The Rescue Rooms, on Friday 2nd December on the Nottingham leg of their current UK tour.

This comes after national airplay on Mark Radcliffe’s show and Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing show on BBC 6 Music and several other support slots at top Nottingham venues for established signed bands including Paul Weller championed The Moons, Exit Calm, Mark Morriss and Misty Miller whilst supporting their album during 2015 and into this year.

Their signature retro-but-contemporary sound has received great reviews for both their recorded and live work, with respected music blog Pennyblack Music describing their album launch gig as a “pure, raw and funk-laden rock bubble that is their immense live act”. Online music magazine No More Division scored their debut album a rare 4.0 out of 5 with ‘Top Album’ status, stating “Out of sixteen songs there were surprisingly no duds in the mix” and Nottingham’s premier events magazine Leftlion concluded of the same: “with its toe-tapping beats and smooth vocals, this album is guaranteed to have you dancing around your room in no time”

The band have already recorded several tracks towards their eagerly-awaited second album – to be released in 2017 – and a good part of their set will be showcasing these fresh new tunes to their loyal following. Says lead singer John Selby: “We didn’t know what to expect when we first headlined The Maze, but were all overwhelmed at the response and attendance there and again at the Bodega. We’re excited to now be supporting such a great band as Cast. It will be a great night and we think their fans will love our sound!”
