I’m a lumberjack and I’m OK…I eat sausages at night and I work all day…..well, summat like that…

To celebrate the American Lumberjack Day, OAKS Restaurant and Bar on Bromley Place is bringing the idea back to good old Nottingham by hosting its very own Woodcutter Week, all in aid of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.

As one of the Trust’s Champions of Sherwood, the restaurant is inviting hungry diners to come along dressed as woodcutters – so it’s time to dig out your checked shirts, comb your beard – and enjoy a free pint of Harvest Pale Ale between the 21st and 27th September.

OAKS will be collecting money for the Trust with a percentage of each sale of the bar’s unique Midlands Spritz pale ale cocktail going towards the conservation of Nottingham’s Sherwood Forest.

The week coincides with OAKS’ Student Welcome Party on the 26th of September, where freshers and returners will be able to taste the true flavours of the county and enjoy live DJ sets till late.

Cooking over wood sustainably coppiced by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and using locally sourced produce, the restaurant is eager to help raise awareness and funds for the local environment.

The restaurant will also be asking followers on social media to post pictures of themselves dressed as woodcutters for the chance to win a meal ‘fit for a lumberjack’.
