Food: Student Entrepreneurs Reach Young Enterprise Area Finals

Fruition - Putting a smile on people's faces

Budding entrepreneurs of the future from a leading Derbyshire independent school are through to the Young Enterprise South Derbyshire Area Finals.

Fruition’ is Ockbrook School’s Young Enterprise team, made up of 18 enterprising students. The company’s range of innovative products include a fun and fruity twist; from cranberry clementine flavoured fudge, personalised mason jars for a perfect fruity smoothie, to seasonal products such as Christmas cards. Sales have so far been excellent, with particular success at the school’s Winter Fayre in November and at the Derby INTU Young Enterprise trade fair in February.

Rebecca Elvidge and Francesca Muir-Harris are joint managing directors of Fruition. Rebecca said: “It has been a successful year so far for Fruition. At this year’s Winter Fayre our flavoured fudge flew off the shelves and likewise at the trade fair at INTU in Derby. We’re hardworking, enthusiastic young people who strive to create a strong image and brand, learn new skills for our future and produce a cutting edge range of products. So far feedback from customers has been nothing but positive!”

The Young Enterprise Area Final and Awards Evening will be held on 6th April 2017 at the University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby DE22 1GB. The evening includes presentations from the six short-listed finalist companies, and the top three companies will go forward to the Derbyshire County Final.
