Monday November 11
The Alfa Big Swing Band return to the Village Inn in Marehay at 8.30pm.
Tuesday November 12
It’s the fortnightly Dexter’s Jazz Club at the Headstocks, Bagnall Road, featuring saxophonist Stuart MacDonald’s quartet with Barry Lee on keys, Simon Paterson on double bass and Ian Beestin on drums from 8.30-10.30pm, admission is £6.
Wednesday November 13
CusCus Flamenco are led by singer/violinist Hamid Ajbar, originally from Morocco; he and his band plus dancers visit Peggy’s from 7pm, entry is £12 and they sold out last time so do book in advance.
Thursday November 14
Guitarists Joe Egan and Henry Claude grace the Espresso Gallery on Woodborough Road with caffeine based interpretations of their favourite standards at 7pm, entry is £5.50.  Jazz Steps welcome formidable jazz instrumentalist sisters Ingrid and Christine Jensen (trumpet and alto sax respectively) who visit from Montreal for the first gig of their UK tour with the international Whirlwind Recordings Jazz Orchestra at the Bonington Theatre in Arnold; their big band starts at 8pm and tickets are £15/5 NUS best bought in advance.  AJQ (the Alpha Jazz Quartet) are back at the Village Inn, Marehay from 8.30pm and at Peggy’s, Trio Con Alma focus on Horace Silver at 8pm.

Where no entry fee is mentioned assume your purchases from the venue support the musicians.
