Friday October 11
Me and Mr Jones AKA proprietor performers Rachel Foster on vocals and Paul Deats on piano are joined by an awesomely talented rhythm section The Whole Affair; Dave Shields on double bass and Steve Smith on drums to perform their beautiful, nostalgic original songs at Peggy’s Skylight on George Street in Hockley. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £10/8.
Saturday October 12
Young hip guitarists Henry Claude and Joe Egan present their jazz ‘duo of doom’ at The Pelican club playing standards from 7pm.
Cape Town-born pianist/composer Philip Clouts’ Quartet visits Peggy’s; his music enthuses the joyful passion of Caribbean calypso, the bluesy melodies of middle eastern praise songs, the exuberant sway of Cuban dance music and the tuneful essence of Gospel.  He is joined by rising star saxophonist Samuel Eagles, bassist Tim Fairhall and drummer Kiran Bhatt. Tickets are £12/10 and the doors open at 7pm.  There is also afternoon tea accompanied by Paul Deats’ jazz piano between 12 and 5pm.
Sunday October 13
Back at Peggy’s Singer Fiona Stein accompanies herself on piano alongside double bassist Andy Tytherleigh to play well known standards plus more contemporary songs by Alicia Keys, Jill Scott and Jocelyn Brown for the Sunday Mezinee concert between from 1-3pm. The haunting music of vibraphonist Jonny Mansfield is performed by his quartet at 6pm in the same venue featuring Will Barry on piano, Will Harris on bass and Boz Martin-Jones on drums; entry is £10/8.  The Shipstone Street Jazz Orchestra, directed by Andrew Wood and featuring sensational vocalist the Sarah Simmonds, are at the Lion in Basford from 1.30-3.30pm.  Saxophonist David Hawkins is launching his new Quartet Four Now at the Poppy and Pint in West Bridgford from 8pm.
Monday October 14
This week Jazz Steps also present Jonny Mansfield’s quartet in a tour of the libraries starting in Beeston at 7.30pm; tickets are £10 available from the libraries direct.  The Alfa Big Swing Band perform at the Village Inn, Marehay from 8.30pm.
Tuesday October 15

Wednesday October 16
Trombone star Richard Leach brings his Clubhouse Six to the Risley Park Jazz Club; music starts 8pm and admission is £9. Swing Gitan and Red Sea perform a double bill at Peggy’s from 7pm; Red Sea were recently featured on BBC Introducing, they are Bex Derry on vocals, James Tolhurst on trumpet, Rob Coates on guitar and Andy Tytherleigh on double bass. Gitan’s gypsy guitarists are Elliott Lewis and Arthur Tyers joined by the hugely experienced John Coulson on double bass and James on trumpet again.   Jonny Mansfield’s quartet are at Southwell Library – see Monday for more details.
Thursday October 17
Back at Peggy’s, guitarist Thom Whitworth’s trio play cool swing by Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Pat Metheny and Chet Baker, doors open at 7pm.
