Splendour Set Times Announced + Indiana joins line up

The set times for this year’s SPLENDOUR FESTIVAL have been announced, plus there will be a little more Nottingham-ness on the main stage this year.

Previously announced main stage act JESS GLYNNE has, sadly, had to pull out of the festival due to throat surgery, however stepping in at, almost the last minute, will be INDIANA, making her second appearance on the main stage at the festival when she performs at 16.30.

Indiana is one of three Nottingham acts gracing the main stage this year, with Future Sound of Nottingham winners SUSPECT ALIBI getting the whole festival underway at 12.30. The ace AMBER RUN, hot of the success of their debut album, will also appear on the main stage, having smashed it on the second stage last year. You can catch the Amber Run guys at 14.30.

Ska legends THE SPECIALS are this year’s headliners and they’ll be bringing the curtain down on Splendour 2015 with a ninety minute set that kicks off at 9pm.

The main stage will also feature sets from indie rockers JAMES, boy band LAWSON – who feature Nottingham lad Joel Peat on guitar, rapper ROOTS MANUVA and TO KILL A KING.

There’s a real trip down memory lane on the Confetti Stage with 80’s superstars BANANARAMA topping the bill, expect all the hits when the band take to the stage at 19.45.

As ever there is some great Nottingham talent on the second stage with the ace GEORGIE kicking things off at 13.00 ahead of Nottingham indie talents THE SWIINES at 14.00.

Having successfully opened the second stage last year KETO, fronted by the ace Leah Sinead, are back again and will be on stage at 15.00 completing a trio of Notts acts to kick off the Confetti Stage.

Add to that the ace FEROCIOUS DOG, one of the few Notts acts to sell out the Rescue Rooms, who return to the second stage having opened it in stunning form back in 2013. Catch the FD boys, who headline Rock City this December, at 17.15.

The second stage will also feature sets from THE TWANG and IRIS GOLD.

Over the years the Courtyard Stage, now being programmed by Acoustic Rooms, has been a breeding ground for great Notts talent having featured the likes of Jake Bugg, Indiana, Saint Raymond and Harleighblu. As ever there is a fantastic Nottingham line up on the stage again this year with the awesome HHYMN topping the bill, catch them on stage at 20.30.

JOY MUMFORD had the honour of opening the festival last year as the 2014 Future Sound of Nottingham winner and she’ll be back at Wollaton Park this year for a performance on the Acoustic Rooms stage at 19.30.

Prior to that will be one of the hottest tips on the Nottingham scene this year, despite only being around a short while, and having only played their first live gig earlier this year, EYRE LLEW are grabbing everybody’s attention and will be well worth checking out at 18.30.

The hugely talented DAUDI MATSIKO will be bringing his acoustic folk sounds to the Courtyard at 14.30 following on from acoustic duo MOLLY & JACK at 13.30.

Despite having only got together last year, though all the members have plenty of musical experience behind them, the ace four piece RJMARKS are another hot tip band in Notts and you can find out why at 12.45.

Meanwhile kicking it all off on the Acoustic Rooms stage will be CEDRIC PETERS at 12.00

Also appearing on the Acoustic Rooms stage will be PIERCE BROTHERS, JAMIE LAWSON and MARTIN LUKE BROWN.

As ever the Funhouse Comedy Stage will return with performances by JOLLYBOAT, JOHN ROBERTSON, ELLIE TAYLOR, CHRISTIAN REILLY and IAN D. MONTFORT, with ANDY ROBINSON as compere.

There will also be a host of fringe events including DANIEL DORE..MAGICIAN, DIY POETS, SWING NOVEAU, DH LAWRENCE & THE VAUDEVILLE SKIFFLE SHOW and NOTTINGHAM SCHOOL OF SAMBA, plus a circus, workshops and a bigger and better Kid Zone.

All in all it’s looking like being yet another fantastic event in the beautiful grounds of Wollaton Park, let’s just hope it’s a bit drier than last year!
