Splendour Festival: Jagermeister Stage Preview – Wollaton Park – 20 July 2013

Yesterday we bought your our preview of the Nottingham acts that would be rocking out on the Courtyard stage at this Saturday’s Splendour Festival – check it out here – in this second part of our Splendour Preview Triple bill we take a look at the Jagermeister – aka Second – stage.

As we all know it’s a Nottingham-tastic line up at this year’s festival and the Jagermeister stage is no different with four Nottingham acts set to play the stage during the day.

Starting things off on stage number two, at 1pm, are the truly fantastic FEROCIOUS DOG, a band that only came to my attention earlier this year but boy am I glad to have discovered them. Ferocious Dog perform brilliant celtic-folk like music that you won’t hear from anybody else in these parts and they do it damn well.

Following on from the Ferocious Dog boys will be the excellent SAINT RAYMOND, of the hottest tips on the Nottingham scene Saint Raymond – aka Callum Burrows – has been making his mark locally over the past couple of months thanks to his brilliant EP Escapades and the single Falling at Your Feet which has received multiple national airplay. A man on the brink of something big make sure to catch him this Sunday.

Rob Green – Jagermeister Stage – 3pm

A perennial NottinghamLIVE favourite – his single launch at Contemporary still remains one of my all time favourite gigs – ROB GREEN will follow on from Saint Raymond at 3pm. Rob has a truly sensational voice as well as a fantastic stage presence and charisma, and is, quite frankly, one of the nicest people you’ll meet. Get ready to be wowed on Saturday when he thrills with the likes of Straight and Narrow and Playing with Fire.

Finally, at least from a Nottingham point of view, on the Jagermeister stage will be KAGOULE at 5.15. Kagoule are a hot tip on the Nottingham scene, this trio deliver epic, eerie post punk grunge that has fast made them one of the best bands in the area.

So another fine selection of Nottingham artists to check out on the Jagermeister stage, where they will be joined by Loughborough band PARK BENCH SOCIETY and headline acts PETER HOOK AND THE LIGHT and MAXIMO PARK.

Check back tomorrow when we round up our preview series with a look at the Nottingham bands appearing on the main stage at this year’s festival – including, of course, man of the moment JAKE BUGG.
