Review: The Music of Queen – A Rock & Symphonic Spectacular

image

On stage the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra with close to 60 members, a dynamic conductor in Richard Sidwell, a five 5 piece full on Rock band, four awesome vocalists, all doing justice to the incredible work of Queen, Nottingham concert Hall rocked on Friday night.

Queen, thousands of words have been written about this legendary band, their music speaks volumes, Freddie Mercury was seeking’ perfection’ in his music and listening to it again, even when it isn’t performed by Queen, was still as close to perfection as you can get.

The audience loved every number which included;

A Kind Of Magic
I Want To Break Free
Play The Game
Under Pressure
These Are The Days Of Our Lives
Love Of My Life
Bicycle Race
Killer Queen
Radio Ga Ga
I Want It All
Who Wants To Live Forever
Hammer To Fall
The Show Must Go On
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Fat Bottomed Girls
Don’t Stop Me Now
Another One Bites The Dust
One Vision
Somebody To Love
Bohemian Rhapsody
We Will Rock You
We are the Champions

The stars of the West End Musical ‘We will Rock You’ certainly did ; Oliver Tompsett, Rachael Wooding, Julia Stark and Peter Eldridge gave it their all and thoroughly enjoyed singing with such an amazing ensemble behind them. I particularly enjoyed Oliver Tompsett,he was superb, every lyric came alive.

Without a doubt the audience loved the performance and got thoroughly involved as did I a great night that I will always remember.
