Review: Showstoppers The Improvised Musical

You will be completely entertained as I was, if you go to see versatile talented creative bunch that star in Showstoppers, last night being transported instantly to an all singing all dancing Atlantis. The format of the show is quite simple, the audience throw ideas up of style and location and what the general plot could include and the performers do their magic.
It was hilarious, which is not a word I use often. It also made me aware of how dexterous the creative mind in improvisation can be when honed and working under performance pressure; the comedic musical talent on stage last night was sublime.

How they wound and worked all the ideas thrown at them was very impressive and entertaining plus their voices were up to the task. We had the operatic style of Puccini whilst the three female performers were bonding and two unsuccessfully avoiding getting gill rot which gave you deadly extra eyes, sounds bizarre yes, but it showed it doesn’t matter about the lyrics or the actions necessarily, if the singers and musicians are extremely talented.

By the end of the performance the whole audience were singing “you win the ball, you pass the ball, you trap the ball, and score! Well last night was a winning performance, go see this clever bunch of people and join in the fun.
On stage at Theatre Royal until Saturday, tickets available here:
