Gallery Review: Gloworm Festival – Thoresby

Gloworm festival had a new location, not too far from the previous venue of Clumber Park, this year we were at Thoresby Park.

Sadly I felt that this was not as nice of a location, the layout and signage wasn’t clear, the map didn’t correspond to reality (i.e. we followed it to loo’s and they weren’t any there) and the main stage seemed to just be plonked at the back corner. It seemed to have lost its quirky, independent chic unique woodland adventure feel which I had loved it for.

There were loads more stalls, tents and things going on, however at times felt like an expo rather than a festival. Everyone was there to sell and upsell. Despite being spread over much more space it felt cramped, loud and claustrophobic. There were massive queues for everything. White Post Farm didn’t seem to have as much as space as they did before which was a shame.

Add to this millions of wasps, it just wasn’t as good. Our party had two trips to the first aiders.

Having said all this, if it was your first time to Glowrom am sure you would have loved it, there was lots to see and do, a host of Cbeebies stars, great live entertainment, 100’s of “classes” for little ones to partake in and lots of freebies given away (if you queued).
