Acclaimed film THE DARK HORSE will screen at Broadway Nottingham from 3rd April. This is the remarkable true story of chess champion and New Zealand hero, Genesis Potini.

The film stars Cliff Curtis (The Walking Dead series, Training Day, Whale Rider, Three Kings) in a “mesmerising performance” and features an impressive turn by young actor James Rolleston (Boy). THE DARK HORSE is an emotionally charged, provocative drama about a man who searches for the courage to lead, despite his own adversities – finding purpose and hope in passing on his gift to the children in his community. It has been described at festivals and by critics as the best film to come from New Zealand. A mean feat considering films such as WHALE RIDER and ONCE WERE WARRIORS.

It is a film about two lost souls finding the strength to carry on through each other’s company; managing to believe in themselves; even if no one else in the world does.
