Preview: Macmillan Fest – Stealth stage – 6 September 2014

Macmillan Fest is getting ever closer, the huge charity festival from the hard working folks at IKE Productions now just three days away, and excitement continues to build. We’ve already taking a look at what you can catch on the new Spanky Van Dykes stage as well as the NCN Rocks and NottinghamLIVE stages, now we move our attention to the Stealth stage. Tomorrow we’ll wrap things up with a look at who will be playing on the main Rescue Rooms stage.

Sadly original Stealth stage headliners Follow You Home have had to pull out of the festival due to medical reasons, however the team at IKE were not about to let that minor blip stop them and quickly promoted Macmillan Fest faves VIOLET to the headline slot and, as anyone who has seen the Derby rockers will assure you these guys will not let you down. Well established on the local rock scene this six piece are well known for putting on fantastic live shows and Saturday will be no different.

Hailing from that there London ANAVAE are girl-boy duo Rebecca Need-Menear and Jamie Finch, backed up by a fantastic band you can expect a hugely enjoyable set from these guys.

Last minute additions to the line up, in the wake of Follow You Home’s withdrawal, BAD SIGN will be on hand with some great rock, with new single ‘The Recidivist’ out soon we’re looking forward to seeing what this Croydon based trio have to offer.

Metal band LOCK & KEY will have you rocking out in Stealth with their powerful sounds, featuring tracks from their new release ‘The Divide’ these guys are on one hell of an upward trajectory. Check them out on Saturday to find out why.

Derbyshire alternative post-hardcore band A WORLD DEFINED have recently announced their decision to part ways therefore Macmillan Fest will be one of your last chances to catch a band that have built up a reputation for putting on exciting, entertaining live sets. While it’s sad to see the band call it a day we’re sure they will be planning to go out with a bang.

Nottingham is not being overlooked on the Stealth stage, and in the excellent THE INSIDE IS LIVE you’ll see one of the most exciting rock bands from these parts. This alt rock five piece are making a hell of a name for themselves with their album ‘The Great Brand New’, which was released at the beginning of August, being well received.

There is more Nottingham goodness from the excellent THE SPANGLE CORPS, firm favourites round these parts these guys mix dark intensity with pop punk riffs and eclectic breakdowns in order to get the whole room rocking.

You can expect some in-your-face, smashing-it-up hardcore from Derby four piece THE GREAT WHITE to give you a kick up the arse.

Sadly Nottingham band Shattered Generation have decided to part ways and so will not be kicking things off in Stealth, however fellow Nottingham act HVMAN TEETH have stepped in and will be getting things started with some hardcore/powerviolence – which sounds nice.

So as you can see it’s going to be a headbanging pit of chaos in Stealth, we highly suggest you check it out.

Don’t forget there is still one more stage to come and in the next preview we’ll turn our attention to the Rescue Rooms main stage.

Don’t forget, if you haven’t got you ticket for this years Macmillan Fest yet you can get it here and for just £10 in advance – and it’s for a fantastic cause.
