Hundred’s of music lovers will descend upon North Nottinghamshire this weekend, and in doing so help raise thousand’s more for good causes, as the Deerstock Festival returns.

Now in it’s sixth year Deerstock has become one of Nottinghamshire’s significant festival scene attracting folks from across the UK – and beyond – every summer. Run entirely not-for-profit by a hard working team of volunteers, led by Festival founder Jed Southgate, the Deerstock Festival has raised over £55,000 for good causes – including Help for Heroes, CALM, The Lee Bonsall Memorial Fund and The Roy Stone Foundation – since launching and has also found itself nominated for several awards, not bad going for a festival that seems to fly somewhat under the radar of the local music press.

This year those attending, many of whom will be pitching up their tents from Thursday, will have the chance to enjoy around thirty bands over the course of the three days, as well as children’s activities, crafts, great food, real ale and, this year, a Deerstock Cinema showing a collection of great family films.

Of course, the main reason to be there is the music and, once again, the Deerstock team have put together a fabulous lineup, including some excellent hometown talent. Nottingham performers such as Motormouf, Strange Currencies, Whisky Stain, Def Goldblum, Crimson General, Blue Vulture, Unknown Era and Pretty Babs will appear alongside the likes of Dirty Vertebrae, Luna and the Moonheads, K.O.G and The Zongo Brigade, The Doggen All Star Band, Transglobal Underground and Jonathan Terrell across three stages. An eclectic mix offering up plenty to enjoy whatever your tastes.

So plenty to enjoy across the weekend, and all while helping raise more money for great causes, at one of the best festivals in the Midlands.

Deerstock Festival takes place from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 July at the Newton Cross Course, NG13 0PH, for more information check out the website deerstock.co.uk
