NottinghamLIFE: NOTTS SHOPPING CENTRE URGE SHOPPERS TO TAKE A STEP IN RIGHT DIRECTION

intu and Shoe Aid staff launch 'giving box'

INTU Broadmarsh has partnered with Nottingham-based charity Shoe Aid this month to collect shoes for those in need across Nottingham

As part of the campaign intu has set up a ‘giving box’ at intu Broadmarsh where local people can donate shoes for underprivileged school children and homeless people.

Shoppers in Nottingham will be able to visit the centre from 7 July to 31 August to make their donations in the giving box.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager for intu Broadmarsh, said: “We are proud of our charity giving boxes which appear in our centres to help amazing causes across the country such as Shoe Aid. When we found out about Shoe Aid’s amazing work we were delighted to support them and we hope our customers are too.

“Previously we have had a fantastic response and the generosity of both shoppers and local businesses is overwhelming. We are hoping our shoppers are able to support this wonderful cause and positively help people in need.”

Shoe Aid was founded to help the one in three children and 250,000 homeless people in the UK in shoe poverty. The charity works with major businesses, charities, schools and communities in Nottingham and across the UK.

Lee Todd, founder of Shoe Aid said: “Having the support of intu Broadmarsh gives Shoe Aid a fantastic central location to collect thousands of shoes for Nottingham’s deprived children and homeless people. We hope this partnership helps raise awareness of our work and how important shoes are to those in need.”
