Television fitness instructor Mr Motivator will be helping Nottingham residents get shipshape as part of a new Wellness Week.

Mr Motivator will be hosting two exclusive morning fitness sessions called Wake Up, Shake Up, for those looking to get active this January.

The classes form part of the It’s in Nottingham Wellness Week initiative being organised by Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) which runs from Monday 22 to Sunday 28 January.

Both classes with Mr Motivator will take place on Wednesday 24 January at the Student Union building on Nottingham Trent University’s city campus.

The first class will kick off at 7am running until 8.30am, and is available for the public to book online now for just £5 including breakfast, simply by visiting Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/wake-up-shake-up-with-mr-motivator-tickets-42231567756.

The second session will then take place from 9am to 10.30am and will be exclusively for the city’s many students.

Ahead of his Nottingham debut, celebrity fitness coach Mr Motivator said: “Wake Up, Shake Up is going to be a great event and I’m really excited to land into Nottingham and get started. It’s going to be a fun way of getting fit and beating those January blues. I promise not to be too tough on those coming along to join in!”

As well as donning leg warmers and fitness gear to meet Mr Motivator, guests can also enjoy a range of stalls set up within the SU – all of which have the theme of health and wellbeing with useful information, free samples, giveaways and prizes to be won.

Featured brands will include Wagamama’s, Bagel Nash, Wholesome Juicery and new Victoria Street tea shop the Bluebird Tea Co.

The Wellness Week campaign is being organised with an aim of promoting health and wellbeing in Nottingham city centre and involves gyms, sportswear retailers and healthy dining and leisure businesses.

There will also be online prizes up for grabs every day as ‘10am Treats’ on the It’s in Nottingham social media channels, as well as offers at a range of outlets around the city centre. This includes 25 per cent off selected treatments at the Beauty Temple on Queen Street, a free day pass at The Gym in Trinity Square, 10 per cent off Cycle Republic on Maid Marian Way, up to 70 per cent off at Trespass in intu Victoria Centre and up to £100 off selected smoothie makers at Lakeland, on Wheeler Gate.

Those looking for further fitness fun can also head to a number of special in-store events in Nottingham, including yoga sessions at the Ugly Bread Bakery on Market Street, and activities at Cafe Sobar on Friar Lane and crafts at Sue Ryder, on Goose Gate.

One of the directors of Nottingham BID, Stephen Jackson, commented: “January is the perfect time to get fit and active, and the Wellness Week campaign is here to give those in Nottingham a bit of a boost and helping hand.

“Not only will we be focusing on fitness with the classes, but we will be providing information on general wellness in the city, including mental health support, how to give blood this year and great volunteering opportunities.

“I’m also positive the Wake Up, Shake Up sessions are going to be a big success and everyone will enjoy taking part in a class from Mr Motivator himself.”
