Night of Festivals – Market Square – 13/14 September 2013

Following the success of the Night of Festivals event last year Night of Festivals returns to Nottingham this weekend with a huge, vibrant line up of great art for all to enjoy.

Most of the events throughout the two days are free – though there are a few premium events – and there promises to be lots to enjoy with the CityArts Performance Dome, a storytelling Yurt and the ArtReach Nanoplex all among the areas to enjoy.

Friday highlights include a Gumboot Dance workshop, Ghambian Kora player Sura Susso, Egyptian violinist Samy Bishai and more in the CityArt Dome. Storytelling sessions in the Yurt, all of which last 45 minutes, include The People’s Wisdom, The Underdog Bites Back and Fire & Ice.

On Sunday you can enjoy a drum circle workshop from Sandeep Raval, as well as a cappella trio Voice in the CityArts dome, head over to the Storytelling yurt for tales including The Voice Undimmed, Lords of Misrule and The Singing Bones.

Also on both days you’ll be able to choose from a selection of movies in the Nanoplex plus enjoy a host of goings on across the festival site including Mandinga Arts: Animal Farm featuring giant pig puppets, fluorescent skeletons, costumed dancers and much much more.

All in all there will be plenty to enjoy for all ages this weekend so head on down to the Market Square to find out what’s going on.

Night of Festivals – Touring is at Nottingham’s Market Square on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September, for more information click here
