Here’s the jazz in Notts for this coming week, thanks to Jeanie Barton.

Mandy Tatton sings with Pete Johnson on guitar at the Pelican Club in the Lace Market from 7-8.30pm.  Back at Peggy’s, the venue owners Me & Mr Jones (singer Rachel Foster and Paul Deats on piano) are joined by Dave Shields on double bass and Steve Smith on drums to perform their bluesy and ballsy original songs from 7.40pm; tickets are £9/8 concessions.
Guitarist Pat McCarthy joins the Andrew Wood Trio at The Lion in Basford from 1.30-3.30pm on Sunday September 30.  Django’s Tigers are at Yarn bar in the Theatre Royal from 4pm; Wayne Jefferies and Richard Smith on guitars, Matthew Palmer on clarinet/sax, and John Coulson on double bass. Pat, Woody and co travel from Basford to the city centre to lead the Nottingham Jazz Jam at Peggy’s Skylight from 5.30pm; the second set is a jam session, which runs until 9pm. Tickets are £3 via Peggy’s website or £4 on the door (it’s free entry for anyone playing in the Jam).
Multi-instrumentalist Ben Martin’s band features Matt Ratcliffe on organ and Jack Atherton on drums at The Bell Inn on Angel Row from 8.30-10.30pm on Monday October 1.
Ariel Cubillas is a Cuban singer/songwriter/guitarist performing on Wednesday October 3 from 7.30pm at Crimson Tree in Sherwood.  Yorkshire drummer John Meehan brings his popular Savannah Jazz Band to the Risley Park Jazz Club for an evening of exciting New Orleans style jazz from 8.30-11pm, admission is £9.
Guitarist Joe Egan’s Bitches Be Brewin’ Jam returns to the Jam Cafe from 8pm on Thursday October 4; the house band features vocalist Florin Bailey and pianist Stephen Sherriff.

Where no entry fee is mentioned please assume your purchases from the venue will cover the music.
