Jake Bugg announces Arena date

Edit Black and white-78He’s already become the first – not to mention youngest – Nottingham artist to bag a number one album, as well as being the first hometown act to sell out Rock City, now Jake Bugg is set to become the first Nottingham artist – to our understanding – to headline a date at the Capital FM Arena.

The young Clifton born singer has announced a February date at the city’s biggest live music venue on 20 February 2014 – this will mark the singers first Nottingham show since his appearance as headline act at this summers Splendour Festival.

Anton Lockwood, promotions director for DHP Family, who booked the show said:

“We’re delighted to be welcoming Jake Bugg to the Capital FM Arena Nottingham,”

Jake is currently on a major UK tour and this Wednesday he’ll be at the Roundhouse in London for the Mercury Music Prize 2013 where his self-titled album is competing against the likes of David Bowie and Arctic Monkey’s for the prize.

Next month will see the release of Bugg’s second album Shangri La – named after the studio of legendary producer Rick Rubin where the record was recorded, just last week Jake released the video to his latest track Slumville Sunrise which was recorded in Nottingham with director Shane Meadows.

Tickets for the Arena gig will go on sale this Friday, 1 November, priced at £22.50 and are available here
