Food: Great British Bake Off champ John Whaite makes Clumber Park Festival of Food and Drink debut

John Whaite, Chef, Food Writer and TV personality, will make his debut at
Clumber Park’s Festival of Food and Drink, held on Saturday 17th and Sunday
18th September 2016.
Probably best known for winning the third series of the BBC’s The Great
British Bake Off, John is also the resident chef on ITV’s Lorraine, has just
launched his third book Perfect Plates In 5 Ingredients, and is currently on
screen with top chef Rosemary Shrager on ITV’s Chopping Block. John will be
appearing on Sunday 18th September.
John also now runs his own cookery school, John Whaite’s Kitchen, set in the
heart of rural Lancashire, and will be bringing some of those lessons as well
as delicious recipes to the Festival’s Cookery Theatre with demonstrations
throughout the day.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase one of John’s successful recipe
books such as John Whaite Bakes: Recipes for Every Day and Every Mood
and John Whaite Bakes At Home, for signing and to ask him culinary
questions in a lively Q&A sessions.
Festival organiser Bev Channell said: “We are delighted to have John join us
for this year’s Festival. Each year we look to invite innovative chefs who can
engage and inspire amateur chefs, bakers and food enthusiasts from around
the region. John is the perfect addition to an exciting line-up of culinary
favourites
Visitors who purchase a VIP ticket will also have the added benefit of
attending an exclusive ‘meet and greet’ with John, and a goody bag of
tempting samples to try when you get home. VIP tickets start from just £15
and must be booked in advance.
Clumber Park’s Festival of Food and Drink brings together delicious food and
drink producers, artisan specialists and food experts, with over 150 of the
region’s best brands all under one roof in the Food and Drink Marquee.
As well as the popular Cookery Theatre, there are also interactive cookery
classes covering everything from barbecuing to butchery for adults, to pizza,
bread and ice cream making for the children.
Enjoy a fantastic selection of craft beers, exciting new wines, and a sinful
cocktail while choosing which one of our street food vendors to pick for lunch
in our pop-up restaurant, complete with live music.
For those who have more traditional tastes, treat yourself to afternoon tea in
the Yorkshire Sweet Café or some retail therapy in the Beautiful Things gift
and home wares marquee.
With plenty of sumptuous food and drink to try and buy, it’s a feast for the
senses and a great day out for all the family.
Ticket prices start from just £6 in advance with free entry for children aged six
years and under. Family tickets are also available and advance bookings also
