Food: Feast your way around Nottingham

Food & Drink 49

Nottingham is renowned for being a food and drink hotspot on a local, regional and national level with exciting new venues opening all the time and to celebrate all things tasty, the Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID), has created Taste Nottingham, an It’s in Nottingham initiative which takes place from Monday 27 June to Thursday 30 June.

During this four day extravaganza there will be some great offers and events, including Nottingham’s first ever Moving Feast. There will be four different themed meals which will take people across the city centre to different venues including some of Nottingham’s newest restaurants as well as some tried and tested favourites, for the ultimate dining experience.

The first of these is the Vegetarian Feast taking place on 27 June at some of the city’s best venues. The trail takes in Pitcher and Piano for a starter, Harts for a main course and the Malt Cross for dessert.

The Indulgent Feast also takes place on 27 June. People can enjoy a three course dinner
of wings, ribs, pizza and mammoth desserts. Venues for this one are Missoula, Revolution and The Lost City Golf, where they can enjoy Tiki cocktails and a range of puddings from Homemade.
On Wednesday 29 June there is a two course Lunchtime Feast taking place at some of Nottingham’s great independents. Main course is at George’s Great British Kitchen followed by dessert at Homemade, then a coffee masterclass at 200 Degrees.

The final one in the series is the Foodie Feast on 29 June. The starter is at Purecraft Bar and Kitchen, followed by a main course at Sinatra’s and a dessert at Copper.

Tickets are £25 each or £15 for the two course lunch and includes food and some accompanying drinks as well as parking or a return Nottingham City Transport bus ticket.

There are also some great offers, discounts and special menus from many of Nottingham’s food and drink businesses. From burgers and hotdogs to free milkshakes, there’s something for all occasions, taste buds and budgets.

A new 70 page full colour food and drink guide has also been produced, with all the details of the events and offers as well as a comprehensive directory of all the places in Nottingham city centre where people can eat and drink. These have been distributed through the Nottingham Post and delivered to homes across the region as well as to businesses in the city centre.

Tom Waldron-Lynch, vice chairman of the Nottingham BID, said: “With more food and drink businesses than ever before in Nottingham, there’s never been a better time to take a trip into the city to sample what’s on offer.”
