Food & Drink: The Ballon Bar launch – Belvoir Castle

Pounding rain didn’t stop us heading to Belvoir Castle on Wednesday for an exciting preview of its new cocktail bar ahead of the official opening tomorrow.  

Keep your fingers firmly crossed for good weather as a ‘Great Summer Party’ is set take over the Engine Yard with a day packed full of entertainment for all the family to mark the official opening of The Balloon Bar, the latest addition to the £3m artisan shopping village.

Press and specially invited guests were treated to complimentary food and cocktails to find out just what visitors to the new Balloon Bar can expect. Hand-crafted cocktails and mocktails, have been specifically created for the venue by the resident mixologist and inspired by the hot air balloon theme such as ‘Up, Up and Away’ and ‘Around the World’ the also the castle’s stunning gardens‘Japanese Blossom’ or ‘Duchess’s Garden’, along with delicious tapas to enjoy within relaxed and intimate surroundings

Emma, Duchess of Rutland was in attendance and gave a speech to celebrate the launch. Alongside the new cocktail bar, the Engine Yard champions local businesses and great British brands, including a host of artisan retailers, food and drink, all within the grounds of the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland.
