The It’s in Nottingham Cocktail Week is back, following the success of last year’s event when people flocked to the city centre to enjoy a wealth of new cocktail experiences, with great one-off cocktails being specially created for this year’s event.

Organisers, Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) will once again be putting Nottingham on the map as the place to be for the best cocktails, as it showcases the city’s offering during Nottingham Cocktail Week which takes place from Monday 11 November to Sunday 17 November 2019.

Summer at Starkey's by Bar Iberico - Winner of 2018's Nottingham Best Cocktail

With 46 businesses taking part, the event is set to be a celebration of the city’s vibrant cocktail scene with 2 for 1 cocktails, mixology master classes and live music.

Venues around the city centre are being encouraged to create new cocktails based on three different themes:

1.      A collaboration with a Nottingham business

2.      A cocktail inspired by a Nottingham personality

3.      A twist on a classic

Participating businesses can enter one or all three of the categories, with all of the drinks available for people to enjoy during Nottingham Cocktail Week.

Three finalists in each category will be shortlisted and invited to battle it out in a live head to head competition, to arrive at a winner in each category as well as to find Nottingham’s Best Cocktail.

Bar Iberico on Carlton Street won the overall title last year for their creation, Summer at Starkey’s, a cocktail produced in association with Southwell based company Starkey Fruits.

A cocktail menu is being produced, listing the venues taking part along with details of offers and special events available throughout the week. People will be able to pick up a menu from locations around the city.  It will also be available to download from: www.itsinnottingham.com/cocktailweek.

“Nottingham Cocktail Week was a great edition to the city’s calendar of events,” said Polly Reade, a director of Nottingham BID, the organisers of this It’s in Nottingham initiative. “The cocktail scene in Nottingham is fantastic and it was good to see so many people discovering a new favourite. The standard of cocktails in the competition was outstanding so we’re looking forward to seeing who will take the title of Nottingham’s Best Cocktail this year.”

Pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels and casinos will be taking part in the event. Among them are All Bar One, Alto, Browns, Ginsecco, Grosvenor Casino, Juni, Monty’s Bar and Social, Mowgli, Nottingham Bowl, Pitcher and Piano, Slug and Lettuce (Old Market Square), The Cross Keys, The Lacehouse, Turtle Bay and Wildwood.
