Food & Drink: I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas Dream

Everything about this cocktail reminds me of Christmas, mainly the fact that it tastes like liquid marzipan, my favourite part of a Christmas cake. It’s topped with a sprinkling of freshly grated nutmeg which is used a lot over the festive season. It even has a Christmassy name ‘White Christmas Dream’ and yet I first came across the recipe for this cocktail I was on a flight out for some winter sun in December.
I was flicking through the onboard magazine in which they try to sell you duty-free, perfume and snacks whilst waiting for take off, when I spotted this cocktail. I quickly scribbled down the recipe, keen to try it when I got home. I’ve always loved Christmas. I love the whole build up. If you’re a fan of Baileys then chances are you’ll love this sweet, creamy Christmassy cocktail.
Ingredients
30 ml Double Cream
30ml Amaretto
30ml Vodka
Freshly grated Nutmeg
Ice
Method
Simply put all the ingredients  (except the nutmeg) into a cocktail shaker or any container with a sealed lid (I used a gym water bottle – well I had to use it for something!) and shake for approx 20 seconds then pour into your glasses and sprinkle a pinch of grated nutmeg on top.
Voila.  One White Christmas that can be guaranteed every year.
