Food: BANK HOLIDAY BURGER FEST TO TEMPT NOTTS TASTEBUDS THIS BANK HOLIDAY

Nottingham Street Food Club Burger Fest

FOODIES in Nottingham are in for a treat this Bank Holiday Weekend as eight of the city’s top independent street food traders will be showcasing their take on the classic burger at an event hosted by the Nottingham Street Food Club.

Eight local traders will be adding their signature burger to their menu throughout the weekend for customers to enjoy – with the choices ranging from gourmet bacon cheese burgers from the Secret Burger Club to vegan-friendly Numinums creating a special falafel offering complete with BBQ pulled jackfruit.

The venue, which opened at intu Victoria Centre last month (Apr), aims to bring Nottingham’s finest independent foodie talent together under one roof and show off what the city has to offer.

Nathaniel Wilson runs Nottingham Street Food Club. He said: “We’re gearing up for a really busy Bank Holiday weekend and in celebration of the extra day off, we wanted to give customers an extra treat and have challenged eight of our fantastic local, independent traders to create a signature burger for the occasion.

“There will be everything from porchetta sliders from PORCO to Cuban vibes from the guys at Chef-Jugz as well as amazing vegan and veggie options too, so there will be something everyone can enjoy.

“The ethos of the Street Food Club is that we want to give the people of Nottingham the opportunity to eat global but dine local and try something different – and give the traders the chance to really show off the amazing food they are producing. Events like this are a great way for us to do that.”

Nottingham Street Food Club is located on the upper mall at intu Victoria Centre, near the clock tower. The 150-seater venue features hot food stalls as well as a bar, which will be launching its brand new cocktails and mocktails menu in time for the Bank Holiday.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager for intu in Nottingham, said: “Nottingham Street Food Club is something totally different not just for intu Victoria Centre but for the city, which is a really fantastic addition to the foodie scene here.

“Being able to bring together so many independent traders under one roof is absolutely brilliant and we can’t wait to give some of the speciality burgers a try!”

The event will run from 26 – 28 May from 12 to 10pm every day. Traders will include: Homeboys, Numinums, PORCO, Secret Burger Club, Suede Bar, Chef-Jugz, Smiffy’s Smoke Shack Q and StreetFood Revolution UK.
