Nottingham in Fashion once again returns to the city with a week-long event to showcase the latest Spring/Summer 2018 trends and collections that are available from a range of retailers in Nottingham city centre.

On Friday 27 April and Saturday 28 April, to launch Nottingham in Fashion, the city will come alive with pop-up catwalk shows throughout the day on the streets of the city centre to inspire people to shop the latest looks.  There will also be a week of fashion and beauty events at individual stores with many of them providing some great offers and discounts too.

The catwalk shows will be presented by Nottingham model, stylist and presenter Caroline Childs and will have the following themes: workwear; sportswear & leisure; going out; prom; wedding; brights; prints and florals.  They will start at midday on Friday and 11am on Saturday.

Fashion shows and events are being organised and hosted by various retailers around the city too during the course of the week.  These include Vivienne Westwood in Flying Horse Walk on 25 April; Reiss fashion showcase at Harts Hotel on 26 April; Gigi Bottega on 27 April; Marks and Spencer on 27 and 28 April; John Lewis on 28 April; House of Fraser on 28 and 29 April; Some Kind of Nature also on 28 and 29 April; Remus Uomo on 2 May and Jigsaw on 5 May, amongst others.

There will also be hair and beauty demonstrations at various salons around the city.

And that’s not all. A glossy fashion and beauty magazine has been produced which is available to pick up around the city as well as at the Tourist Information Office. It has advice on how to create the latest looks in hair and beauty as well as where to shop for this season’s biggest trends.

The magazine has a page dedicated to Nottingham’s independents and local bloggers’ picks.  It also features all the great offers that will be available in the city centre during Nottingham in Fashion as well as a guide to all the fashion and beauty events taking place at shops and salons during the course of the campaign.

20,000 copies of the 24-page fashion and beauty magazine are being distributed to homes around the region and an online version of the magazine is also available.

Kathryn Neilson Davis, one of the directors of Nottingham BID, the organisation behind this It’s in Nottingham initiative, said: “Nottingham in Fashion is all about celebrating and showcasing the brilliant fashion and beauty offering that we have here in Nottingham and encouraging people to come into the city centre to shop or to enjoy a hair or beauty treatment.“

Naomi Hartley, who is also a director of Nottingham BID commented: “It is great to see Nottingham in Fashion back in the city. The pop-up catwalk shows will be a great way of creating a real buzz about fashion in the city to launch the event. The magazine is a fantastic addition to the campaign and will help shoppers of all ages, no matter their style or budget, to buy the products perfect for them when they visit the city centre.”
