The Beauty Temple Mapperley opened it’s doors for business on 27th June, but last night saw specially invited guests flock to the official grand opening of the new salon.

Greeted with a goody bag containing some fab miniature Elemis products, which I can’t wait to try – the Pro-radiance Illuminating Flash Balm and Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser, Prosecco in hand, I was able to take a look around the beautiful new salon, adorned with balloons for the occasion, and learn about the treatments on offer.

You might already be familiar with The Beauty Temple name. The original successful salon, launched in 2006, was their first city centre location premises and is situated on Queen Street. Like it’s sister salon – the latest venture offers spray  tans, nail paints and massages

It is also the first salon in the area to have a dedicated Blow Dry Bar – where guests can choose a particular hair style from a menu of packages.

This is the third business venture for owners Lucy Goodwin and Martin Goodwin, they also own the Owl House Day Spa, in Diseworth, which opened in July 2011. Somewhere else I really want to try.

Free treatments were given at the new Salon’s Blow Dry Bar where customers are given a dedicated brochure from which they can pick from packages including the Royal Blow Dry for £25, the Bottomless Prosecco Blow Dry for £35 and the Ultimate Blowout at £65. They are then asked to select a style for their hair – with options such as a sleek and straight look, tousled tresses, beach waves or a braid.

The salon is also one of the first in Nottinghamshire to offer the ‘Chelsea Blow Dry’ – a style also known as The Duchess as it is inspired by Kate Middleton’s favourite bouncy and soft blow dry look.

Cocktail’s aren’t just for drinking here either.  For customers wanting something different with their blow dries, the new salon is stocking Milk Shake products – a range of hair treatments that are mixed into formulas for each hair type and need. There are also a range of ‘colour cocktails’ for guests to create a bespoke semi-permanent hair dye.

As well as offering hair services , the salon has a packed brochure of available treatments. This includes the Hot Stone Back Massage, St Tropez spray tans, Elemis body wraps and the Super Food Facial.

Similar to the city centre salon, the new venue will also have a champagne nail bar where guests can be pampered all while enjoying a glass of bubbly or a cocktail. Available treatments include the Bottomless Bubbly Manicure for £36, the Rose Garden Hand Treatment for £22 and the Royal Pedicure at £32.

If the sun ever decides to return this summer, guests will be able to enjoy a drink and homemade cake in the salon’s secret garden – a secluded outdoor area to the rear of the venue.

The salon is also available to hire for children’s birthday parties and hen-dos. For Nottingham brides, there is a tailored menu of treatments to help in getting ready for the big day. For bridal hair and make-up, there are the silver, gold and platinum packages to choose from, while the salon can also provide bespoke bridal hair accessories that are individually designed to suit any bridal look or theme. The stylists at the salon will also travel to a bride’s home or venue on the day for an extra cost.

A DJ was on hand to provide music throughout the evening at the swish opening. Guests were also treated to a selection of nibbles and canapes.

As you can see from the photo, I had a great time and couldn’t resist the chance to get sparkly with their festival glitter.
