Beauty: COMCIT Oxygen Facial

There aren’t many non-surgical beauty treatments where you can actually see results halfway through!
Meet Oxygen Therapy, It’s trend that has been making headlines for a few years now, with Madonna, the stars of Sex and the City and other A-list celebrities such as Colin Firth and Kate Moss all said to be fans, and now the treatment which has been called both the ‘Instagram facial’ and  “no-tox” because it is said to be like botox but without the needles, COMCIT has come to Nottingham.
So what is COMCIT? Now available at Serenity Retreat in Carlton, it stands for Cryo-Oxygen-Micro-channelling Collagen Induction Therapy. It is the most effective and advanced skin rejuvenation system yet.  I was asked to try out the Oxygen infused – the perfect way to replenish the skin and restore hydration – “A healthy and radiant skin is breathing skin, where oxygen exchange between the cells functions perfectly.”
Many women have had facials before. The skin is analysed, problem areas noted, cleansed, exfoliated and more or less stripped of impurities. The difference with Oxygen therapy is that it literally breathes life into your skin perfecting it to those insta filter-standards and leaving it looking tighter, brighter and clearer
There’s nothing like a lovely deep cleanse with a facial massage. I’m often guilty of a quick wipe over cleanse at night to fall into bed, but a lovely thick layer of Flint & Flint product is smoothed over my skin followed by a gentle exfoliation.
The procedure itself is quite gentle, and those with sensitive skin or a fear of needles, are able to undergo the procedure with no fears.  This intense anti-ageing treatment plumps the skin from the inside out, delivering pulsed pressurised oxygen to deliver specialised serum rejuvenating the skin with visibly reduced lines and wrinkles. To start the oxygen therapy, a serum is applied to the skin whilst a microchanelling airbrush gun-like wand is run over the skin emitting 90-95% oxygen to push the serum in.  It doesn’t hurt, it’s just a strange feeling, a little like a cold very small vacuum cleaner proving a bit of pressure on the skin.  I kept my eyes closed but the sound resembles the air when you’re pumping up your tyres.
The technician did one side of my face. We then stopped to look at the results – and they were noticeable. My cheekbone seemed lifted in comparison to the other side.  The whole process is actually very relaxing and leaves the skin feeling soft and silky smooth. The session lasts approx. 45 minutes

Visiting the salon was a relaxing experience overall. No rush and a calming environment. Further results are said to continue over the next few days after the treatment, so I’m looking forward to seeing further results.
