Announcement: Motorpoint Arena Nottingham issue Manchester Arena Incident Statement.

All of the team at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham are shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific attack at Manchester Arena last night. We send our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved and injured and all those affected by this terrible event.

As a fellow member of the National Arenas Association, we work tirelessly alongside Manchester Arena and all other UK Arenas in developing processes and procedures to ensure that our customers have a great concert experience but most importantly are safe in our venues.

All Arenas will continue to work together to share best practice from security experts, the Police and one another to implement robust security procedures which are tested and reviewed regularly, in order that we can provide the safest possible environment for our customers to enjoy the collective and unique experience of sharing their favourite artists and events with their friends and family.

At the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, all our staff receive mandatory training on counter terrorism and emergency procedures on a regular basis.  Every event we host is risk assessed based on the nature of the event and intelligence from the police, including counter-terrorism officers etc. In conjunction with our crowd management contractor, Controlled Solutions Group, we have comprehensive procedures for all types of incidents and we meet regularly with local police and the authorities in multi-agency planning groups in order that we are fully prepared for all eventualities.

The response of the staff working at Manchester Arena and the emergency services in dealing with such traumatic circumstances was remarkable and testament to the quality of the people working in the industry and those emergency services who support us both daily but also in times of our greatest need.
