“Annie” tells the story of Anmarie Spaziano, the American who made Nottingham her home and also launched the city’s number one burger venue, Annie’s Burger Shack. The film, which is about half an hour long, follows Annie’s move over to the UK as well as the launch and growth of her burger business which started in the small kitchen in the Old Angel before eventually growing to the point where it now has it’s own venue in the heart of Hockley. The movie harks back to some much missed Nottingham landmarks as well as including some fantastic archive footage of Annie’s early years in the States and is an uplifting tale of somebody battling the ups and downs to do what they love, even in a far away place.

“Annie” is the second movie from Lace Market Media Group, the company run by father and son team Mark and Matthew Daunt, following on from last years film “The Cockle Man” which told the story of much loved Nottingham legend The Fish Man. The company plan to continue with further documentaries on Nottingham legends while also working on other projects includings dramas, music videos and filming of Nottingham Panthers’ home games.

“Annie” will be available online for 24 hours from 7.15pm tonight and can be viewed here
