MAIN ROOM
========

JUST JAMES:
=========

Just James started off as an ambitious project aiming to give dance music that live performance attitude that not even some professional artists can honestly replicate 100% live. It was this concept that pushed the band into producing and writing their own material and continually furthering their “Hype style” sound with the two front-singers Ella Reeves and Alex “Motormouth” Young, and the band, Joe Anthony,
Jake Mehew, Benjamin Kerridge and James Child

With all members varying in their taste of music, Just James is a collective of all genres different but pinned together with strong Drum N Bass, Hip Hop, UK Dubstep and punk style giving the listener an energetic and aggresive performance.

After heavy touring throughout 2011, Just James have gained a reputation around the Nottingham music scene and throughout Derbyshire as “The band that should be playing stages, not the back of pubs” and continue to push and self promote their
name performing to fresh audiences around the Midlands.

With big ambitions and plans for 2012, Just James are currently writing more material, expanding their set and are scheduled to be working very closely with Soundhub Records to rocket start their career as a professional band.

GREAT BRITISH WEATHER:
================

A refreshingly naive collection of teenagers creating what falls under the massive umbrella of indie rock: with strong influences from Dance-Punk, Math Rock, and Post-Rock. What does that mean? Come to a gig and hear us because our setlist is forever changing!

“Back in the Red Rooms and it was Battle of the Band winners GREAT BRITISH WEATHER who took to the stage next, now here is a band that could well be headed for big things, a awesome riot of sound the guys were a blast and put on a hell of a show and I particularly enjoyed new track Jealousy which I think was getting a very first play. It is also worth noting that in bassist Lewis they surely have the musician with the biggest hair in Nottingham” – Nottingham LIVE

THE AMBER HERD
===========

Local media has said that The Amber Herd are “a cracking band…one to be watching”, “Nottingham’s best kept secret?” and “Mind blowing!” Over the last year they have received airplay and played live sessions on BBC Radio Nottingham (the Beat with Dean Jackson, and John Holmes’ show) University of Nottingham Radio, Fly FM and Sherwood Radio. “Thursday” has just achieved the Number One position in Sherwood Radio’s Festive Thirty for 2010. The band have also been featured in The Nottingham Evening Post, Nottingham Live and Live@ magazines and appeared on podcasts for Leftlion and Soundsashire.

“…. both blissfully melancholic indie and uplifting stripped-back folk and comes to a sprawling, open-mouthed finish with an almost Velvet Underground-esque wall of sound, acoustics flitting between prog keyboard stabs and all buried under Neil Beards’s darkly overdriven Mary Chain guitar. Nottingham’s best kept secret?” www.thiscitymagazine.co.uk

IN THE NORTH WOOD
=============

he members of In The North Wood originate from different parts of the South of England. They met through a mutual love of music, whilst all living in Nottingham. In early 2011 they formed as a four piece. 2011 saw ITNW play a number of venues around the Nottingham underground scene including The Rescue Rooms and Hand & Heart. ITNW blend a mix of contemporary and traditional influences to take their music in a new and exciting direction. The name of the band comes from the fact that when the four of them are together in Nottingham they are metaphorically ‘In The North Wood’.

2012 will see In the North Wood release their debut three track EP ‘Southern Ground’ as well as a series of gigs to promote it.

UPSTAIRS ROOM
==========

LISA DE’VILLE
========

Lisa has performed sessions on BBC Radio Nottingham, Leicester and Derby as well as recieving excellent reviews from local and national press.

Brought up listening to everything from Joni Mitchel to Led Zepplin, Nick Drake to Nine Inch Nails, Lisa has a style as diverse as her imagination and tastes. The results are convincing and uncompromising.

Lisa’s live sets tend to silence audiences. Her classically trained seemingly unrestricted vocal range voice has drawn comparisons to Jeff Buckley, PJ Harvay and Laura Marling. A crystal clear voice, with words that are provocative and powerful and heartbreaking melodies that stick in your brain and set souls free.
Sometimes performing with her full live band, the sound can range from whispered vocals over intricate lilting folk guitars to rolling heartbeat rhythms over white noise.
Not the stuff of your average female singer / songwriter. But Lisa never was your average singer songwriter.

DANIEL ISON
========

“I stuck around the NL stage to catch the next act who was one I’d earmarked to see on the day. DANIEL ISON. Now here is an extremely warm, witty, charming and all together talented young singer who had one of the most entertaining sets of the day, if you get a chance to catch this young singer in action, whether it be at a gig, busking in the streets or even playing on a tune on a bus then you really ought to take the opportunity, and while you’re at it check out the excellent track 21st Century Boy.” – Nottingham LIVE

FRANKIE RUDOLPH
===========

“Almost too young to be this good, Frankie has a soothing vocal that you’ll just love listening to. His guitar playing is just as striking”-The Maze. Having only been playing live and writing songs since mid-august, he takes inspiration from the likes of Ben Howard and Coldplay which has influenced his sound into a distinctive style which he describes as being “somewhere in between soulful acoustic and indie folk”.
